soft tissue injuries of the foot and ankle; Posterior tibial tendon reconstruction;
Ankle Instability.
Dr. Kennedy graduated from Royal College of Surgeons in 1989. Since then he has practiced both in Ireland & the U.S. Dr. Kennedy's primary interest is lower limb surgery, particularly sports-related injuries. Dr. Kennedy is currently the clinical director of the running clinic in the gait laboratory at the Hospital for Special Surgery. This interest in sports medicine of the lower limb is generated by a long personal history in sports, where Dr. Kennedy competed at National and International levels in track, rugby, fencing, and water skiing. As part of Dr. Kennedy’s Fellowship year, he was involved as assistant team physician to Boston College Football in 1994-95. Since then, Dr. Kennedy has been involved in the treatment of both recreational athletes as well as elite athletes from the New York Giants, Manhattan Rugby, and National Basketball referees association. Dr. Kennedy's involvement in all aspects of lower limb sports injuries has led him to publish articles on running injuries, cycling injuries, ballet injuries, and ankle instability following sports injuries.
