For orthopaedics and trauma orthopod will attempt to: be a free forum, provide a high quality world-wide forum for academic discussion, provide an information sharing service for basic science and clinical practice research, be a discussion forum of contemporary issues, reports of relevant meetings, conferences, articles and publications, keep in touch with related developments elsewhere, not be a forum for single case reports unless these are supported by references to the literature. Image files no greater than 200K should be submitted to orthopod. To liaise with the community on the services provided, archive discussion on the Internet for future use. This is not a list for the general public.

The Trauma-List mailing list is maintained at TRAUMA.ORG and is a multidisciplinary list covering all aspects of trauma care and injury prevention. Selected discussions are archived on this web site.

AMP-L an Internet mailing list for amputees

Medical electronic mailing lists have grown rapidly with the evolution of the Internet. The purpose of this paper was to assess the content and academic quality and of an electronic mail discussion list "Orthopod" dedicated to research in orthopaedic and trauma surgery.

This list, in spite of the name, is not restricted to Indians or Orthopedic surgeons. Any health professional who has an interest in the Indian Orthopedic scene, is welcome to join. That includes manufacturers of orthopedic instruments and implants, as well as allied health professionals. People not professionally connected with orthopedics are not subscribed to the list
